Wilsons Promontory

Wilsons Promontory has great views, beaches, walks and gives you the chance to get close to wildlife

Wilsons Promontory is the southernmost tip of the Australian mainland and one of Victoria’s most popular national parks. Known as ‘The Prom’, the park is famous for its pristine beaches such as Squeaky beach. The Prom also has a number of different hiking trails. There are trails of differing levels of difficulty, ranging from short strolls using beach access ramps up to longer 2 or 3 hour walks.

Wilsons Promontory is also the home to excellent wildlife with Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Emus, Echidnas, Wombats, Black-tailed/Swamp Wallabies and over 150 species of birds. This gives plenty of opportunity to see wildlife up and close. Please note that no dogs are allowed in the park.

The entrance to this national park is just 20kms away from Sandy Point. Once in the park please keep your speed down to enhance your chance of seeing the park’s wildlife (as well as for safety).
